BAD HOSTS MCDONALD’S “HOMERUNS FOR LIFE”

4th Consecutive California League Tour

As the late newscaster Jerry Dunphy, would say “From the desert to the sea, to all of Southern California,” record crowds of boys and girls sought their opportunity to play with the pros as Baseballers Against Drugs once again toured the South Division of the California League. Included in the tour were the Lancaster Jethawks, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, Lake Elsinore Storm, High Desert Mavericks, and San Bernardino Stampede.

It’s the 4th time that BAD has visited these gracious minor league teams and their impressive stadiums. Rounding out the tour was a stop at Ventura, California (former home of the now defunct Gulls). No matter the location, the results were the same – record attendance and McDonald’s Operators Association of Southern California at our side. Attendees at the Ventura clinic were surprised and thrilled when local owner Clay Paschen Jr. handed out free hamburgers along with BAD’s free t-shirts and autographed baseballs.

Once again, our heartfelt thanks to all the McDonald’s Operators for making another memorable summer for all our local youth.
